5.21.11 - Day 76

Saturday we drove to Zion's, but there were way too many people and it was really hot, so on the way back to St. George, we stopped at a little petting zoo in the city of Virgin. We were outside for only about 15 minutes, and look how red the boys' cheeks were. It was a good thing we didn't hike in Zion's, we all would have been miserable!
My three boys!
They were such good sports and stopped and posed for pictures for me...probably because we bribed them and bought them some play swords, which turned out to be the best $4, I think I've ever spent!
We decided to hike around the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve just north of St. George city. It was a lot closer and we always hike around there so we knew the area. But we went around a different side and found an awesome little cave...it was nice and cool in there. Look how red all of our faces were. I have been so sick of this rain we've had non stop in Salt Lake, so I thought the heat would be so nice...yeah, that didn't last too long! haha. Of course we had to get a family picture in the cave...except I didn't realize Skyler's hat was blocking his eyes and the big boys didn't want to stop sword fighting for another picture, so it will have to do!
There we go! Look how cute he is in his cute little bucket hat! I don't think he liked the hat too much, but he was a good sport and let me take some pictures of him in it once we got back to the house!
We barbequed some burgers and hot dogs while the boys played in the backyard and then went to a park down the street. After the boys were done playing on the playground we went for a walk along the trail around the neighborhood. LOL, I have to share this next picture...a few minutes after we started the walk Gage stopped walking and put his sword in his shirt. Carter saw him and had to do the same thing. He thought of that all on his own. Then the next thing he said was that he wanted to be Donatello for Halloween. haha, I think he has watched too much TMNT! (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!) LOL, I love that kid!
I also love this picture and how Carter is looking at Gage. Carter looks up to Gage, and I love it, I love how much they love each other and how they are each other's best friend. I can, but I can't wait until Skyler is big enough to join them in all their little shenanigans! They are going to be the Three Musketeers causing all sorts of trouble!!! But, it is the looks like this that make everything they do that drives me crazy, all worth it!
