Brandon blessed Skyler this morning. It was a beautiful blessing and he talked about the love and heartache it took to get him into our home, and that we will never forget it. Although Skyler was crying through the whole blessing, so you really couldn't hear everything that was said. It was kind of funny because Skyler was sitting on Corey's lap chewing on his little photo book when it was time for Brandon to take him up. Well Brandon took the book away and it really upset Skyler, so he started crying, and didn't stop until Brandon was finished with the blessing and turned around to walk him back to our seats. Then the whole congregation giggled because he instantly stopped crying on the walk back to the pew! haha.
Corey also bore a beautiful, heartfelt testimony that we are still hearing compliments from friends in our ward about. He is an amazing young man, and we are so lucky that he is a part of our family!
And Jenn, she is one of the most beautiful, amazing young woman I have ever met. I probably should have shared my testimony on Sunday, but I didn't. Corey is much braver than I! But I would love to share it with all of you.
I know our Savior lives. I know he loves us and I know he has a plan for all of us. It might not be the same plan we have for ourselves, but there is a plan, and His plan is always right. We just need to let go of our ideas and our desires and let Him into our lives. He knows all of us better than we know ourselves. We were not ready to turn in our papers to adopt again, but when we let Him into our lives and started letting go of our plans and trying to listen to His, we knew it was time to turn in our papers. There was another sweet little baby waiting to join our family. Just one single short month after we were approved and online, this beautiful couple emailed us and asked us if we would be willing to add another boy to our family! I know that if we wouldn't have listened to the Spirit and followed His plan for us, we would not have met these wonderfully amazing people and would not be blessed with the sweetest spirit of our little Skyler.
I loved seeing you guys again today! I love you both so much and I hope you know that you are always in our hearts! We love you so much. We love your families so much. We know it can't be easy for them watching Skyler grow up from a distance, but I hope they know we love them too for being the best kind of support for you guys! Okay, I can't even see what I'm typing through the tears anymore. Just know, we love you and will for ever! Skyler will always know of the love and sacrifice you both made to help him have the kind of life you wanted him to have.
