Today is Pioneer Day! It was so nice to be able to sit in sacrament meeting and listen to the youth and adults talk about their experience on Trek this past week! What a neat experience to be able to have just a little bit of understanding of what our ancestors went through to be free of persecution, and to be able to worship however they wanted to without fear of their houses being burned. Sure makes me grateful for all of their sacrifices so I can have this freedom! If you ever get the chance to read 'Fire of the Covenant' by Gerald Lund, I strongly recommend it! It is a great book to read and to learn more about the pioneer's trek out here! Be sure you have a box of tissues though, it certainly was not an easy journey.
I can't believe this sweet little boy will be 16 years old by the time he gets to experience Trek...if they are still doing it by then...I'm sure they will be, but you never know! :)
