3.6.11 - Skyler's Birth Day!

This morning we welcomed Skyler to the world! Jenn went into the hospital around 3AM, and got an epidural around 5AM. Corey sent me a text and then called me at 5:21AM to let me know she was dilated to a 6 and that she just had the epidural. They said it would probably be a while before he came, so we should wait before heading down.
I jumped in the shower and decided to get ready just in case. I text Stacy to see if she would be able to come over and watch the boys while we went to the hospital and she said she could! So whenever we heard it was time, we would be ready!
About an hour and a half later I text Corey to see how she was progressing, by then, she had dilated to a 7. Still just waiting, so I decided to take a little nap because the boys were still sleeping and I was tired! I fell back to sleep just in time for the boys to wake up! But Brandon was the amazing husband he is and got up with the boys while I slept a little bit longer.
Corey sent me another text around 9:20 saying they were still just waiting and that she was at a 9, but they said it would still be a while. We waited for about an hour before we headed down. Stacy came over and just as we got in the car Corey sent another text saying she was pushing, so we hurried down there, and just as we turned onto the road in front of the hospital he sent another text saying he had arrived and had a lot of hair and everything was perfect! We rushed into the hospital and met Corey and Skyler in the hallway just as they were taking him to be bathed! He was just beautiful!!

We went in to Jenn's room and visited with her for a few minutes. She looked absolutely beautiful. She definitely did not look like she had just spent 8 hours in the hospital, let alone the last hour delivering a baby! Not a single hair was out of place! She is amazing! And Corey, he was the proudest daddy, I have ever seen!
A few minutes later Corey came in to take me back to the NICU to see Skyler. He got a little bit of fluid in his lungs when he was born so just as a precaution they put him on oxygen just to make sure he was okay. They wanted to keep him in their for about an hour. So I didn't get to hold him, but I did get to hold his hand and see all of his beautiful blonde hair! He had soooo much hair! After about 20 minutes, we went back to the room and the doctor was telling Jenn that what they were doing was just a precaution and that everything seemed fine to that point. After he left Corey took Brandon back into see him while I visited for a little while longer with Jenn and her mom.
I felt so bad being in there, I just wanted to let her sleep, so I tried not to talk to her too much. I'm sure she hadn't been asleep since the day before, so I know she was exhausted, and sick with Bronchitis on top of that! Yes, and she still looked like an absolute angel through all of that! Seriously, she is amazing! The nurse came in to change her sheets, and I figured that was a good time for us to go, so I hugged her and thanked her again for letting us be there! I also hugged her mom and thanked her!
Jenn and Corey, I hope you both really know how much that meant to us! Thank you so much!
I waited in the hall for Brandon and Corey to come out of the NICU, then we hugged Corey and told them to let us know if they needed anything, then we left.
