Skyler's 12 month check up

On Friday, March 9th, we had Skyler's 12 month check up and he is a perfect little boy! Here are his stats:

Weight -  23lbs 4oz ~ 50th percentile
Length -  26 inches ~ 20th percentile
He was in love with this lion on the rug for some reason. He kept wanting to eat it.
And he finally snuck passed me and did it! Haha

Well now that Skyler's First Year is over, I will not be updating this blog anymore, but you are still more than welcome to follow us on our family blog. Just send me an email at brandonandcharley@gmail.com and I will send you our family blog address!

3.6.12 - Day 366 - One Year Old!

Today is Skyler's 1st Birthday! I can't believe he is already ONE! This past year has flown by so fast! We just spent the day hanging out and then shopping after work!
He couldn't figrue out how to get through daddy's legs!
I had to lay under his legs and call for him so he would finally drop to the floor and see that he could go under them! haha, he's so cute!
Later, we were at the store and I tried to put a St. Patty's Day headband on his head and he did not like that at all!
Skyler,
You have grown so much in this past year! I love you more than you'll ever know and I am so thankful that you are a part of our family! You are starting to come into your own little personality and learning all kinds of new things! You love to play with your big brothers and they love to play with you. Now that you are crawling around, they think they can pick you up and carry you. You love every second of it! I don't know how it can be comfortable because you are just about as big as they are, but it melts my heart watching you all interact with each other!
I can't wait to see what kind of little boy you will turn into!
I LOVE YOU SWEET BABY!
Love, Mom

Jenn and Corey,
Thank you for giving us the most precious gift you can give. We know how much you love and adore Skyler and we are so, so grateful that you are a part of our lives and especially Skyler's. I just want to make sure that you know, that he will always know how much he means to you and how much you guys mean to us! Don't ever forget that! We love you guys for ever!
Love, Charley

That sounded like we'll never talk again, but you guys know that's not the case! :) We love seeing you and can't wait to see you again!

3.5.12 - Day 365

I love this picture! Skyler loves to be upside down!
And when you pick him up like this, he kicks his legs 90 mph! It is hilarious!
Skyler started walking around the kitchen with his pirate ship today. He's been walking along the furniture so I was really excited when he just pulled himself up and started walking with this!
Look at that smile on his face! He loves it! He's going to be walking on his own before long!
Tonight, Carter had his first swimming lesson!
He had so much fun learning how to blow bubbles in the water...
And learning how to kick with straight legs!

3.4.12 - Day 364

Skyler had so much fun playing with the balloons this afternoon!
Brandon would take the balloon and bounce it on his head...
Hahah, this reaction is priceless!
Finally daddy let him just play with the balloon and this is what he'd do! He'd either try biting it or yelling into it while holding it.

And then he'd hug it, awe!
Then he saw his shadow moving while he was playing with the string and he couldn't figure out what it was!
Then he crawled over to the shadow and just let the balloon go, and then he'd grab the string again and then let it go again. It was so cute, he was having so much fun with it!
And....drumroll please...the BIG project we've been working on! We decided to paint our kitchen cabinets. I've wanted to change them since we moved in, but never knew exactly what I wanted until I saw them on a friend's blog one day! Then we had to do it! It was an extremely time consuming job and the stubborn person I am, wanted to get them done before the boys' parties. Well, that didn't happen with Gage and Carter's party, but it was almost completely finished before Skyler's party. I did about 75% of it all by myself since Brandon had to work at H&R almost every single night. He did most of the sanding and helped with some of the painting and my dad cut all the beadboard and helped us caulk it.
The new barstools - best investment ever - the boys LOVE them! And so do I because now all 3 of the boys can sit next to each other while I make dinner! (don't mind the blue tape and some other stuff, it isn't completely finished yet...but close enough, I still wanted to share it with you all!)

Now, I need some new things to go on top of the cabinets and some new flour/sugar canisters...and just some new stuff all around! Any suggestions on colors??? I'm leaning toward grey/yellow/white combo, or maybe Red and turqouise??? Brandon thinks I have too much red everywhere else in my house...but what can I say? I love red! :) I'd love to hear your thoughts!!! Eventually we'll get the countertops replaced and a new blacksplash, but until then, we'll just enjoy the new white and bright kitchen!

3.3.12 - Day 363

Today we had Skyler's 1st birthday party! He was such a sport and just went with the flow! That's what I love about him. He is so easy going! He didn't mind one bit that there were so many people there just for him! He just played and did his own thing just like it was any other day!
We were so glad that Jenn and Corey and Jenn's mom were there to share his special day with us! :)
Daddy helped him open his presents...
I think he had more fun playing with the wrapping paper and tissue!
Hahaha, the look on his face is priceless...'um, what am I supposed to do with this?'
'Oh, I see, it's a notepad to use these crayons and stamps on!' Haha, love him!
Then we sang Happy Birthday and let him blow out his candle...or try to...I think Carter actually blew it out for him!
Still not sure what to think about it!
I don't know if he was trying to blow kisses or what, but this face was just too cute not to post!
Aunt Stacy took daddy's job and smashed his hands into the cake...
He did not like that at all!
But he at least tried the cake...
For a minute and then he was done!
Haha, and I had to include this one because it cracks me up how he holds his bottle. He never uses both hands around it, it is always one hand holding it at the bottom of his bottle!
And Aunt Stacy did it again! She made the coolest Thomas The Tank Engine cakebite cake for everyone else to enjoy! Here's the front.
Here's the side...She is so creative!!!
And here's the back!
After everyone went home, Brandon put the pirate ship together and the boys had a blast playing with it!
And Skyler just looked so cute, I had to get a picture of him! Those pants are 12 month pants...I think he is a little on the short side! haha

3.2.12 - Day 362

Last night we had a pretty good snow storm, so of course the boys wanted to go outside and play in it! Skyler and I stayed inside where it was nice and warm and ate dinner!
Gage all ready to go out and play!
Carter was all ready too!
haha, they didn't even wait to go into the yard, they started playing on the deck!
Daddy helping htem build an igloo.
It's all fun and games until someone gets a snowball in the face! Haha, I wiped it off and right back outside he went!
